So what's with the Spiderman references this week?

Discussion

I mean an off-hand quote by Connor Hawke on Arrow this week was one thing, but now we're getting Peter Parker'd and Spider-Person conversations between Ralph and Cisco.

The CW does know they have DC comic shows right? I mean the Shazam reference was pretty sweet!

I'm a few episodes behind, so haven't seen the scene in question.

But the likely explanation is that it's a pop culture reference in the show. The Flash is part of the DC-verse, so they won't have DC comics (because they're "real" in-universe). They probably can and do have marvel comics though, so they can make references to it as they would any other film.

Oliver and his son... (I wanna say William?) played Injustice 2 last season on Arrow

The Arrowverse actually does have DC Comics in the future, kind of like Logan has Marvel Comics via The Uncanny X-Men

Fair enough, I stand corrected.

Maybe a homage to Stan Lee somehow? Seems too indirect though.

I was thinking that too

Both shows also made a comment in the last few minutes where one of the main characters was like "So who else could use a drink"

I am still yet to see a DC reference in marvel properties.

Does deadpool count? When he said Cable was as dark as a DC movie in Deadpool 2 or are we counting that as a Fox film?
