GPU 3D spiking to 100% and crashing while gaming
I have a pretty good computer and it has been great for the last 2-3 years. Lately when i start gaming (atm kingmaker pathfinder and dota 2) it crashes to desktop quite quickly. there are no error messages most of the time just spikes on the 3d part of my GPU to 100% although sometimes i bluescreen and get a memory_management error or a kernel_security_check_failure.
Things i have tried: i have tried updating gpu drivers, rolling back gpu drivers, taking my machine apart and putting it back together, reinstalling windows (10).
I'm totally at a loss of what to do, looking for someone smarter than me to suggest new things to try. I'm starting to think it might be some faulty hardware though.
Specs:
GPU: geForce GTX1070 EVGA
CPU: Intel(R) core(TM i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz
RAM: 1x16gb ddr4 ballistix crucial
PSU: 600W
Thank you in advance

Have you checked the temps of the gpu? Maybe you need to apply new thermal paste to it if the temps are really high. But before doing that reset bios(clear cmos) and see if the problem persists.
Thanks, i'll give that a go
I've just done a memory diagnostic and it came back positive, knew it was a bad idea to just go for the 1x16gb ram.
can you run a benchmark at www.userbenchmark.com and post the results here?

Indeed your memory is really slow.. You could buy another memory stick (exactly the same) and install it in your pc.
