Moving out soon. Hopefully.

I'm not sure if I'm in the right place but I live about 20min outside Birmingham, and I graduate this May.

One of my plans is to hopefully move out for the first time. I don't have a job right now (looking), but I've been thinking about moving to metro Birmingham. Frankly, I have lived in small towns all my life and am thinking about having a taste of city life for once.

I just don't know where I stand I guess. I have an AAS from JSCC in Manufacturing Systems Tech (I've been exposed to electrical, mechanical, robotics, lots of stuff; kind of like a jack of all trades path I guess). I don't know how I would apply that in living in a city. Weird way to put it I guess.

I have not lived on my own yet and I was wondering if anyone on this sub had any suggestions? Again, if I'm in the wrong place to be asking this I apologize. I've been poking around on websites that rate different cities on cost of living and other stuff, and honestly, I'm nervous. I have never done this before.
