Please Help with a Broken Quest!

Spoilers Below:

The Mistress of Mysteries questline has been broken for me on Xbox since November. I thought I'd try to finally sort it out since the game has had several patches, but none have fixed this.

Anyway, my game disconnected after getting the Cryptos holotape and/or Olivia's login but it hadn't updated that I received them. When I logged back in, it had jumped ahead in the questline:

Gain Access to the headmistress' Office.

I read elsewhere that those two holotapes (specifically Olivia's login) are not quest locked and can be given to other players.

Can someone confirm that these holotapes aren't quest locked? I'm not looking for a handout and I'm willing to make an alternate, get to that point in the quest, trade the holo to a friend, and then trade it to my main.

It's really frustrating that I cannot finish this and thank you.
