Male CIA Analyst gets field job, falls in love with a Mossad agent who is ordered to kill him. She poisons him and he survives.
Fuzzy on the details for this.
CIA sends an analyst (our dear protagonist) to a foreign country where he spends a huge amount of time walking around.
Meets a woman who he loves, turns out she's Mossad, wants to tell her he's CIA but doesn't. She's ordered to kill him because Mossad thinks he's an enemy spy so she poisons him then finds out he's CIA and tries to save him.
He doesn't die, CIA and Mossad work together one whatever it was he was investigating. The end.
I don't remember much about the book. I read it nearly 10 years ago. Even then I'm not sure how old it was. Read it in my late teens and I'm pretty certain it was over my age range at the time.
I know this is a pretty lackluster amount of details but I'm hoping to even get a range of options to narrow it down, been thinking about this book for a while.
