Gas in solution stability.

So I make alot of gas in solutions as part of work. And I was wondering if anyone knows why 1M HCL in Ethyl ether is more stable than 1M ammonia in Ethyl ether. The HCL will sit happily for quite some time without a big loss in molarity, but the ammonia leaves the solution very rapidly. Any answers appreciated.
