I'm English and could talk for a long time about American politics. Can someone summarise what is going on in the UK. I know nothing.

Imagine 2 toddlers by the name of 'Republican' and 'Democrat'. Both kids want the same toys (money and to win the upcoming elections). They both throw temper tantrums, snatching other toys back and forth because the ones they REALLY want are not available yet - but they don't want the other kid to get more or better toys now because that might mean they get the better toy later, too. In the meantime, the toys they are snatching back & forth (the American people) are getting all worn and broken - but they are too busy fighting each other to notice.
That about sums it up.
