Strahd accidentally kidnapped Yeska, after the Feast if St. Andral. Seeking advice on a good angle to play.

HELP

Okay, party of 7 lvl 5s just survived the Feast. I had Strahd pop out of the church with Father Lucien and Yeska in his hands.

When Strahd left after destroying the bones, I forgot to mention him leaving Yeska, so now Strahd is hanging out with the alter boy.

Ireena knows he took him, so I was thinking Strahd treats him well, but I’m not certain how I want to handle that.

If this were my campaign, Yeska would be encountered later, potentially in Ravenloft, as a vampire spawn.

Strahd would totally use an innocent to get to the characters. Use him as bait, or do the "do what I say or I'll send you pieces of him" thing (only of that's not too much for your group), or turn him into a vampire spawn and have vamp Yeska visit the characters to mess with them. I see Strahd as loving to play mind games and engaging in physiological warfare.

Hmm if this happened to me I think I'd use Yeska as bait for a trap - though that trap would be less obvious - as in, Yeska would be an easy scry on the party and possibly suggested to/brainwashed to get the PCs into trouble or be a catalyst for Ireena being separated from safety

If you don't want to keep him, he could be outside the gate screaming to let him in.

If not, Strahd could let him go after he turns him into a spawn.
