Need some help

TLDR: I’m dumb and need an excuse to not go to a concert

Not really too sure if this belongs here but it here it goes. I made a commitment to go to a concert with my at the time girlfriend months ago. I tried killing myself and we broke up and I sold my ticket. We’re friends now and she asked if I was still going and I said yes without thinking about it and the show is in a month and I need an excuse to not go. We live in different states and I feel so bad for not being able to go but I can’t tell her I sold the ticket it would break her heart. I don’t know what to do I feel like such a dick about it all. I know lying is bad and that I should probably tell her the truth but I just can’t it’s off the table at this point. Idk to do i wish I could just disappear to not deal with this.

Because we’re super close to each other. I know it sounds stupid but we are always gonna be friends. Idk how to explain it I’m probably just over thinking everything as usual sorry

It’s just gonna suck because we’ve been talking about it and I hate how I forgot that I even sold it, she’s going to think I’ve just been lying this whole time but I guess you’re right.

I'd just wait until the day, or maybe the day before and fake some kind of illness...flu, a virus, whatever.

Staying friends sounds like a bad idea but if its gonna be a casual friendship and you don't even live close to each other, then just tell her you can't go and that you've sold it. Yes she might get upset but what's the other option? Cancelling last minute and she'll get even more upset and she'll probably cease all contact. Or spending a lot of money to go there just to not risk your friendship ending? You choose.

There's also a high chance she doesn't actually want to go but she's being nice. Even if she wants to stay your friend, she probably thinks it'll be awkward. She might cancel last minute as well. People usually do anything to avoid awkwardness or to be put in the position of having to hurt someone.
