The Server Situation makes the game nearly unplayable around EU Primetime and i have already seen the effect on new/returning Players.
hello all
i am one of the many who returned to this game recently. I am around for a bit over 4 weeks now i think and since i am back, and i'd guess it was like that before aswell, the Servers are in a ridiculous state. When i come home (around 5 PM) everything is smooth - loading times are fine, i can Queue for dungeons and BGs, i can actually fight something without having to fear a 2-5 second skill delay. After i returned i spread the word that the game is pretty good now compared to release state which made 2 friends return to the game aswell, but one of those two usually comes home around 9 PM. Around that time the game is nearly unplayable and has been like that since i returned. Loading times are going up 3x, BG and Dungeon Queue are both not working anymore ("someone declined the invite, you have been put in front of the Queue yadayada") and the skill lag is real. Short: the game is as good as unplayable for him from monday-friday and he can only enjoy a more or less playable game at the Weekend....aka the time where those problems occur half the day instead of only around Primetime.
My question: about what timeframe are we talking here, are the Servers like that since 1 month, 6 month, 5 years? Are there any known Information from ZOS about it getting better or they are working on it or something? I found my love for the game again, but after losing my perfect vMA run in Arena #8 yesterday, an Arena where i didnt even die on my first try btw..., because of skilllag i am kinda wondering if this is every going to get any better. My Buddy also did not Play yesterday and i am quite sure that he is not alone with this Problem, ZOS is losing Players who returned after Ages to Server Problems which is not acceptable given how good the game has become.

Their executives don't bother with providing resources for upgrading servers or fixing netcode - people are playing and buying crowns regardless. Boycotting is not an option, because masses are coming for quests and quests only, so the server/group finder collapse doesn't affect them.
And there's a few hundred/thousand people who've spent an impossible amount of money in the crown store. They could lose 90% of their playerbase and not care, so long as the compulsive gamblers and rich people who just use this game as a way to go shopping continue to outspend the rest of us.
Yep. We're pretty much f*cked.
But it is only a question of time until casuals will encounter the same problems. It is not only dungeon and bg finder (which offer the best xp possible with their dailies, so they are attractive for casuals aswell) but also the other bugs and problems i mentioned. You are right that casuals care less about those things, but do you know what every single successful MMO that ever existed had in common? They had a stable casual, a stable nolife and a stable in between crowd that played the game and supported each other with their sheer existance. Hardcore pvp people need casuals to have fun, otherwise it will be hardcore pvp ppl vs hardcore pvp ppl only which will ultimately lead to no pvp at all. Casuals need nolifers to keep prices stable and enough ressources on the market. One doesnt work without the other, as mmo history has shown time and time again.
