Old news, but I'm still salty

Nothing to see here, just some old salt being unearthed.

Every time I see a black friday B camo in game its a reminder of how wows fucked me and everyone else who already owned the regular versions of the B camo ships.

£39 I paid for the Massachusetts. That's $50, or 45 euros.

They wanted us to pay that again for each ship in order to get the nice camo (edit: though they did offer some doubloon compensation which I don't feel was adequate).

Pepperidge farm remembers. Please never pull that shit again.

Only those who had the original ship could finish a mission for a pile of doubloons though. That's the point.

True but a comparatively small pile of doubloons compared to the cost of the ships.

I don't feel screwed by any of the "B" ships, and I owned all the originals when the "B" ships were launched.

I guess the difference is that I really love the black camos, where as you must not really be too bothered. That or you just took the hit at the time and didn't mind.

Which is fine of course!

I felt it was ripping people off, the ones buying the black ships.

In all honesty, the camo should have been a separate option for people who had the originals. But I'm not all that bothered by it.

I don't feel F..., I owned all the none black, and got via loot easily missions for all the black ones, far cheaper already, together with the special doubloon missions (very easy by the way) which you received if you owned one of the original ships, it was a very high value for the money. (unusually high compared to any other WG offers so far, also the loot chances was unusually very very high to get 3 even all 4)

Even not getting the B versions, the "normal" ones are still fine as they are, nor is it true what you state that they did not offer you anything. You should have read the texts more carefully.

So no I do not agree with your rant at all.

I recall you had to pay quite a lot of money to get the B versions unless you took a chance and got lucky with the crates which many people did. Is that not right?

I think the deal was fantastic - just not for those with the ships already.

Wasn't the doubloon value from the missions less than half the value of the ship? I don't remember 100% but I was aware of it at time.

I can not remember the exact amount anymore, but its likely to be found in the depth of the reddit forum still :) What I do remember was that I was positively surprised for all the value in total for these ships incl all doubloons and stuff, that bottom line was easily a 50% discount for me. If you bought the crates instead of the package, the crates had a much much higher chance of a mission than usual. Of course if you would not care about the doubloons present & stuff than the value is certainly different, but its not true that the owners were not considered at all.

The crates certainly seemed to yield very good results compared to any since that's for sure. You're right - I did forget about the doubloon offer in all honesty. I remember not being too satisfied with it at the time though :(

Ingame its 2 different ships, thats how they got away with it. You could buy black expendable camos on the $ide 😂

Yep I know - it was really nice for everyone who didn't have the ships already, but a total dick move against anyone who did.

I’m sure You could just mod the camo there is literally no other difference and nobody else in your games cares what your camo looks like.

I got all the black friday ships, and only spent around 25$ to get them. The doubloons i got from the sister ship missions far outweight the cost. The drop rate was stupid high imo. So win win in my opinion. Plus the black ships look awesome.

This is a good reminder.

Many here seem not to be bothered by it yet, but I suggest they start to, else we end up like WoT Console, with their ridiculously high amount of cheap reskins seling for full price, including reskinned tech tree tanks.
