Help with [REDACTED SPOILER]

I need some tips for Great Shinobi Owl. First attempt I managed to get him down 75%, every attempt after that I can barely get past first phase. I know there’s cheese strats based around running around him and spamming Whirlwind Slash, but I don’t want to resort to that. Any tips?
