Any way to weatherproof a broken window?

Zombie was able to bust out a window of my safe house before I could get to him. I know I can barricade the window with planks however, I read somewhere that having busted windows is bad during winter time because it causes your character to get cold. So my question is is there any way to weatherproof this window? I googled around and couldn't find much. I did see where someone said you could use a crowbar to pry a window out in one location and move it to another but I couldn't get it to work. Thanks
