New monitor turns off for a few seconds every ~1 hour

Troubleshooting

Title. Bought this guy from Microcenter and about once per hour the screen will turn off for a few seconds.

I'm pretty sure the issue isn't my GPU since my secondary monitor stays on and functional. I can still hear sound coming from my applications. Should I return the monitor to the store for a replacement?

Otherwise, if anyone is thinking about picking this monitor up I really like it so far. A little bit of ghosting visible when moving the mouse around, not noticeable while in games though. The thin bevel is nice too.

Update: I switched the cables and used the monitor for a few hours. No more black screens! Thanks :)

I've had this happen with an HDMI cable that wasn't making good contact. Would at least try a different cable / making sure it is firmly seated.

Sure, I'm actually using the cable that came in the box with the monitor. Could just be that! I'll try a spare cable I have lying around, thanks :)

I had a similar issue with my tv. Bought some cheapo cables for my HTPC and PS4. Kept going black a couple times an hour. Replaced them with the second cheapest cables: no longer an issue.

Nice, you're the second person that's mentioned that it could be the cable. I'll give a spare one a try!
