Microtransaction prices.

Discussion

I'm mostly talking about the cosmetic stuff. I don't usually buy cosmetic microtransactions in games but was just browsing to see if anything was worth buying. I'm all for supporting games (and already have with stash tabs and such) but $65 for a back attachment, and close to $90 for some cosmetic armor? That is fucking outrageous. I played on PC years ago and started again once it came to ps4 since I no longer have a pc that can run it. I never recall the prices being this outrageous. I could be wrong and maybe my memory is failing me?

They were always this expensive, yeah. Although I believe the majority of back items are around 350-400 pts, and the armor sets around 550-600 pts.

Whether they are worth it or not is totally subjective. If you can only put in like $10-20-40-60 to this game, then you're probably better off by purchasing stash tabs.

If you're buying $100+ every league, then go nuts.

Like I said I generally don't buy cosmetic items and I doubt that will change. Just seems outrageous for people that do. I get 5-10 bucks but close to $100 is just insane.

Let people spend money how they want to :)

They are more than welcome to if they wanna be morons and spend that kind of money.

Funny I'm being downvoted for saying that $100 for a fucking cosmetic item is fucking ludacrous.

I've spent $400 on a hangover. Give me my 75$ digital outfit!

$100 is not much money at all for many people. It may be for you. Clearly your frame of reference is different from other people. Imagine that? You are being down voted for being insulting and assuming your view of the world is the correct and acceptable one.

I agree with you. Their prices are stupid high.

Head over to any other gaming subreddit and you hear pitchforks and, "$30 for a map pack and 3 new guns?! F#×k this company!" Im with you. Luckily for me, the cosmetics all look like shit :)

Everything is exactly the same price as on pc

Ahh, It's changed a bit in the past few years, which is what OP is saying.

The prices of the cosmetics are ludicrous and actually deter me from spending money on it. The gear that drops ingame is all so ugly so as to make you want the cosmetics too.

It just seems greedy to be askong so much for such a small addition.

Gotta agree, the game is awesome but the mere fact that 95% of the items look the exact same cosmetically even uniques is something else .... lol disappointed doesn’t even scratch the surface, extreme laziness at best. The amount of content is amazing but the extreme lack of anyway to look mildly interesting without spending a stupid amount of money is hilariously ridiculous.

Yeah, it's quite offputting. The whole point of a diablo type game is to obtain loot. The lot in PoE is vile.

i always wait for sales to buy stuff, also u get good value from loot boxes, bought 3 + 1 free and i got 1 ice horns, 1 fire wings, 2 hideout stuff (a pile of frozen corpses and a frost gale)

2
FriddenOP•

Its rare I'd buy cosmetics regardless of price so I doubt I would buy lootboxs but seeing how expensive shocked me.

I actually like em but not at that price or really anything over like 5 bucks I wouldn't touch regardless lol. I agree some look like shit but I do like some too.

Well TBH things have been going pretty bad with GGG ever since their dad went out for a "pack of smokes" and never to return, as he was the only bread winner.

To make ends meet GGG has had to work the coal mines instead of finishing middle school. Tho I hear that things have been looking up since selling goods at a bake sale, Oh and selling 75% of the company to the Chinese Government. Tencent is run by the Chinese Government. Private capitalist companies do not exist in China. Even the top Private Equity firms in China have government hands in them.. Since they are a Communist nation, all companies are part of the government, as capitalism is mainly a "Western decadence"

Anyway, GGG is an Indie company that doesn't have any AAA backing (Tho they do have China backing them to some degree...) so that 90 bucks is really needed....comrade..

actually I hear Tencent has zero say in anything what GGG does...but you know a slice from that sweet MTX pie is going into someone else pockets now too...Unless tencent bought a bunch of empty boxes to play super fort, I am guessing they want a return on some investment...
