I'm not willing to pay $15 a month for Classic. Change my mind.

Discussion

First off I just want to set the tone and say that I don't feel entitled to receive anything for free. That is 100% not what I'm going after.

Rather, I want to have a discussion of what you feel the price of classic should be and why you are willing to pay that much for it.

Here is my reasoning why I don't feel like classic is worth the $15 a month.

-When WoW first came out the internet was very different. It was very much still in development stages and gaining popularity. Back in the day I could totally see blizzard needing the $15 for server costs because the infrastructure was not there. However things are much different today and I don't believe them when they say that they need $15 a month for running costs. Rather I see them using that as an excuse to milk the costumer with a half assed excuse.

-Another argument is that the $15 goes to development. Retail is different where there are "supposedly" new patches and updates coming out every so often. Classic won't have any "new" development but rather it is more or less a remastered version of an old game. If they decide to actively push new content I would pay the monthly fee.

Personally for me I would pay a one time cost from anywhere of $40-80 for the game I once very much loved. And if they still really, honestly needed help for development of the game I would even consider donating to make it happen. But personally I few the monthly cost of $15 as blizzard just milking out the WoW train one last time before it dies in total (for them. The community support for wow has been remarkable).

I would love to hear your thoughts and hopefully some of you find this topic interesting because I've been thinking about it recently.
