Anybody else's person extremely aware and plotted things out from A-Z?

Been having many weird realizations and this is one of them. I always knew my ex was extremely aware of herself and her surroundings, but she was also a plotter and I feel like she uses people as her pawns to get from A to B.

She used to work at a pizza shop in high school and took over as general manager. Pretty impressive for a high schooler and I admired her for this. She said that it was all part of a plan to get ahead in her career in the future. Very smart and thinks ahead, check.

She got her undergrad degree and began working at a company where she began small and expanded within her team on the corporate side, but left after 3 years for the same position elsewhere. Expanding her network, check.

Spent 3 years at location 2 doing the same thing under the same role. Continued to expand her network, moved onto a different location. By now, she had been in this line of work for 6 years, so she had experience and was still young, check.

Has been at location 3 for about 1.5 years now. She started off doing the same thing but she had showed me a plan she had concocted demanding a very calculated out raise and a change in title since she was the only one in her department. A few weeks later, she texted me telling me she was going to quit and was in the process of finding another job because someone said something that upset her. No word on whether or not she quit as this was said to me in the midst of her splitting, however, in the past few months, she has changed her work title on facebook so I assume she ended up getting her title change and raise. She's very established and knows what she does, she's valued at work, still young, and everyone at her job loves her, check.

Well now I got wind that she became friends with someone I know by association. This "friend" (who I think she's seeing) is a manager at a restaurant, and others in the friend group work at the restaurant. She's been hanging out with this friend group for probably a month, but word has it that now she's working at that restaurant............ Makes me wonder if she deliberately became friends with these people to get a job there or if it was offered to her out of the blue. And what about the job where she got a raise. I wish I could stop being curious but it's not gonna happen in this lifetime.

She definitely has a corporate mindset. Even chewed someone out that we had just met over dinner and only later realized that it was "the corporate in her." She works to get what she wants, but she also moves from person to person to satisfy current needs.

I remember distinctly one time when she told me that I'm so aware of myself, of people, and of surroundings and she got concerned that everything that I do was calculated because I was so hyperaware of everything. I assured her that it's not. Was that projection? I don't even know.

I have been working towards my own career goals for the past 19 years and have done things and taken positions that would improve my resume, as I'm sure we all have. But I haven't become friends with or slept with people with the goal being to further my agenda and then dropping them once my needs change.

We are all pawns in her game and things become clearer and clearer as she moves from friend group to friend group, relationship to relationship, picks up random hobbies and interests, starts a new job out of the blue.

I wish so badly that I was able to be the solid, consistent thing in her life that would keep her grounded, but it seems to me like she's just floating around in space with no safety and no care and it's so so sad. But just like she used everyone else, she used me. For therapy, for sex, for validation, for things that I probably will never know.
