Anyone expecting mid to late round picks to be anything huge are fooling themselves. It's nice when it happens, but it's rare. For every Diggs or Hunter, we have guys like Clemmings or someone who's declared a steal on draft night but doesn't even make the roster year 1.
The people who really needed a wakeup call are the ones who thought center wasn't a huge need going into this draft. Elflein hasn't been good at C, hopefully he'll be a lot better at G.

Right now, he looks like he’s struggling. That doesn’t mean my opinion was valid 115 days ago, nor does it mean he still can’t be good. Let’s give it time and see how things play out. It’s preseason after all.
He hasn't played Guard in 3 years, let's not just call him a "very good LG" already when he hasn't even been all that good at C since coming into the NFL.
He should be good, but improving greatly after a bad year at another position isn't a guarantee.
He's also a year removed from that broken ankle. Getting some strength instead of rehab time should be wonderful for the guy. I like him this year, after disliking him last year

College dominance does not guarantee success at any position, ever. You cannot bet on him being good, or even mediocre, at Guard. He hasnt had a good year in the NFL.
Just wait to make a call after this season. No reason not to believe he’ll work better at guard.
