6WM Summer Music Project 2019 [Primary discussions, themes and head counts]

Good morning to you all, thank you for attending this little gathering.

I hope you received your welcome pack when you arrived today, each bag was personally filed by Gary.

If you notice any strange green liquids at the bottom of your pack, there is nothing to panic about this is just a harmless discharge from Gary's latest open wound. However if you are one of the lucky few then you will be entered into a prize draw, the winner will get a an all inclusive weekend for two at "The Basement"

Where you will be treated to Gary's famous flagellation treatments and torture spas.

For anyone who was here this time last year, you can leave now and return for this afternoon's presentation on the proper removal and storage of human placentas.

Otherwise for everyone else we had several successful competitions and projects throughout the summer months.

Firstly we had a t-shirt competition where u/pitstainn (who has since gone missing) was our overall winner, all winning t-shirt can be found here.

Our next project we went full in and decided to create our own sixth world oriented compilation, where we got 16 artists to create just under 2 hours of crazy arsed music. Everything was planned, designed and sourced by the members of our great cult like community.

The compilation is still available for download and free for everyone! Which is nice - Soundtrack For Unrecognizable Mutations

It has almost been a year since our last class action suit, I mean group project and maybe it is time for our now 2k+ sub count to pull together and make 6WM great again.

I'd like to propose 3 possible themes for our next compilation.

  • Randomly Generated Genre Comp:

Using the following link Genres!, each artist generates a made up music genre then interpretes how it would sound etc then creates music accordingly. Contributors can use their current artist name or create a new persona with a backstory.

  • The Lost Soundscores of Section 3

Each contributor selects a film from the BBFC's list of videos nasties. Preferably from the lesser known section 2 or 3 lists and creates a piece that would be part of a forgotten or lost soundtrack or score from said film.

Then we compile all the tracks stating that these were all from the cutting floor of said films etc.

More info at wiki about the video nasties for those who don't like horror films or the weird and wonderful, check the section called the DPP list for further info.

  • Bryn Jones : 20 year passed. Tribute compilation.

As I recently realised this year is the 20th anniversary of his passing.

This idea is quite self explanatory, create music influenced by muslimgauze. I feel if we even attempt to do it we should aim to have it released for his birthday on 17 June.

Alternatively this could just be a seperate project if people want to do it or secondary one going on parallel to the main project.

Obviously these are only some rough ideas to work from and it all depends on if people are actually interested in doing another sub organised project together.

If anyone else has any suggestions for a theme or other things we might be able to do building up to the summer, throw them down in the comments.
