How mad would it make Bill that Dave Portnoy is friends with Tom Brady?

I doubt Brady is a good hang anyways
Everything that is said, posted, or written about Brady suggests the complete opposite
He's probably a good person, but that doesn't make him a "good hang." He's not someone I'd want to have a beer with because he strikes me as very guarded. He wouldn't want to try anything (I wouldn't either if I were in his position). What would a conversation with him be like? If you talked about football, how open would he be? If you didn't talk about football, what else would he talk about? I imagine that most superstar athletes wouldn't be that fun to share a beer with.
That’s gotta be the dumbest hypothetical I’ve ever read.
What’s so ridiculous about it?
God you all are weird
Some of ya'll treat this shit like Bill is a teen pop-singer who has a rival with another teen pop-singer and you're his angry mob of teenage fans online.
Assuming he saw the picture (which is a big assumption) I don't think he would spend more than 20 seconds thinking about it. Dude is too busy watching the playoffs and thinking up new "Baseball is dying of Ebola and my daughter plays Barcelona style Tic Tac Toe" takes to care about Barstool.

Jeeze, this is perfect. A bunch of dudes who want their own Beyonce vs. Taylor to obsess about online.
Why do Barstool people worry about Bill Simmons so damn much lol
It’s the literal opposite
What? This is a Simmons sub? There’s a barstool “is bill scared” post weekly here. It’s odd
Tom Brady has no friends. Friends want to do things like 'drink something other than water' or 'speak about things unrelated to being an NFL quaterback'--things Tom Brady has no interest in. Also, if he had friends, real friends, some of those ads and haircuts would have been avoided.
Who hurt you
This may be the dumbest comment I have ever read.
I'd like to think that Bill, who closely follows the practices of other sports/media outlets, knows all about the messed up shit that goes on at Barstool and is not a fan of them. This article sums it up pretty well: https://www.thedailybeast.com/inside-barstool-sports-culture-of-online-hate-they-treat-sexual-harassment-and-cyberbullying-as-a-game
I re-read some of Bill’s early writing and it’s some super barstool-ish bro/douchebag work.
Article was unreadable on mobile. Get your shot together Daily Beast.
Huh, weird. The first time I read it was on mobile.
Lol at the barstool hit pieces
It's called "reporting."
They’re hit pieces
Accurately reporting that Portnoy is a piece of shit is not a hit piece.
That guy has the most punchable face I’ve ever seen.
you better be talking about Portnoy!
Bill only pretends to hate Portnoy so the women at his workplace won't hate him. But you just know Bill has a dm love affair going with that Masshole on the low.
Really doubt that
I really don't. They have way too many mutual friends, interests and sensibilities. Hell, a ton of the older Ringer staff members refer to people they know and are friends with at Barstool.
I just don't think it's in either party's interest to publicly acknowledge the other at the moment.
Dave & the PMT guys take the occasional jab at Bill for being a lame old guy, a fake ____ fan (insert whichever Boston team makes a playoff run), or a 'fake betting' guy but overall it does seem fairly harmless
How is Bill a fake Boston fan or a fake gambler? I don’t see how they come up with that.
Given Bill landed his gig at ESPN for doing the same shit to them, I'm sure he gets the game. And they probably share a mutual hatred of Deadspin, so there's that.
I’m pretty sure I remember Bill telling a guest on his pod a few months back that he’s hung out with Brady before. Idk why he would care if Portnoy hung out with him. There’s honestly no Ringer-Barstool rivalry even though ppl try to speak it into existence.
That story was so bizarre how Bill casually mentioned ‘I was at a bar one night and Tom walked in’.
