People judge Leandro way too quickly based on his price tag. Lad's not had a proper preseason, but he has something, that I cannot deny, even if he isn't my favourite. Give him the summer to be properly integrated and be part of an actual plan before judging him so harshly. Ligue 1 ain't the Russian League with the long winter holidays, and he needs time to gel with Marco.
I hope he will adapt and show more of that. I definitely think he has more potential than he showed so far.
Also, Ney being pushed around like this isnt even acknowledged by the ref. Is that the reality now, he needs to get his foot broken before they'll call it?! Ffs
And people wonder why Neymar sometimes dives.
Everyone should remember that we integrated Lo Celso over the course of a year and a half. Look how he turned out.
It would be SOOOO short sighted of us to get rid of him. He was literally thrown into the squad with the expectation that he would solve our problems immediately and be the new Thiago Motta.
Lo Celso is younger
by 1 year...
He'll come good next season! His passing ability is top quality.
He should be sold
After getting him in the winter? That would be a stupid thing to do.
Stupid thing was paying that much to get him. For the "quality" he has shown , We could have gotten a cheaper midfielder or just not getting anyone
Hello, Barcelona fan here. While I understand that there is a lot of contention with regards to Paredes, I’ve noticed a few things since he started playing with PSG, especially considering I’ve somewhat followed the player since his time at Empoli.
I’ve noticed that you lot have tried to play him with the intention of him being a 6, in a similar light to Thiago Motta. I’m not entirely sure that’s his best position, or rather his ideal role. For as long as I’ve seen him play, Paredes has always been a conventional regista. He’s the closest contemporary mold of Pirlo (not necessarily saying he’s as good, but the closest I’ve seen consistently right now). He isn’t, nor has he ever been the best defensive screen in-front of a backline (many teams have tried to get that out of him, whether he is capable or is motivated enough to learn, I don’t know). He, like Pirlo, isn’t a ball-winner, which is what I would categorize Motta as. That’s why I always feel disheartened to see many people think he’s not quality, as that is what they expect from him at PSG.
Paredes will shine if he’s paired with a ball-winner than can cover a large amount of the pitch. You guys already have a phenomenal one in Marco Verratti, but I think you may need another ball-winner who can also play between the lines for an effective midfield three. However, that’s just based off of what I’ve noticed, Tuchel has probably figured out what he needs to get the best out of him.
Thank you for the input thats a really good explanation. I really like Paredes and I think that in the right setup he will become a good player for us.
