Here's the thing about the purple ball in Zero Hour...
The ball was there in the first mission in Destiny 2 when the Cabal attacked, but there were no pylons around it. There is now. That means The Fallen put them there. Did they think it was a dead servitor?

The Fallen respect our Fallen saviour. Even though we're at a battle/war with Eramis, they still respect our Fallen.
