Confronting a housemate on Shapiro

Hey guys galls and non-binary pals.

I could do with some help on resources and pitching my tone and strategies in this situation.

It's transpired my housemate likes "some of the things Shapiro says". Bit of a surprise given what I know about him but not something completely improbable.

I had a long chat that was fairly confrontational about Shitpiro's transphobia, the invalidity of chromosomes dictating pronouns and the greater complexity of gender vs sex vs sexuality etc and have shared philosophytube's transphobia video as an intro for him.

I could do with any suggestions of videos that outline how the issue of trans competitors in women's categories is a bad faith issue and videos that show Shitpiro's shittiness that don't get complex too quick. I have a tendency to pursue tangents in discussion and lose the central point as well as get frustrated and rude to the point of ending the engagement fruitlessly, hence hoping for videos that can take him by the hand and prevent him starting down the path, rather than what I'm likely to do which will leave his only input Shitpiro's videos.

Slight aside, I haven't yet introduced him to Contrapoints as I can see him getting thrown by the number of characters jumping about and not realising the tone indicates when she's satirising. (he does have a tendancy to not notice someone is taking the piss)

Anyway, thanks to all y'all for pitching in.

Just show the interview of him with Andrew Neil on the BBC. If he isn't bullying uninformed college 18 year olds then he crumbles to pieces. Edit: Apologies that it isn't trans related but it does show how bad he really is when questioned on his views.

Have you considered developing your own thoughts to be able to clearly refute the arguments with which you disagree? Learn the argument from both sides and understand it thoroughly.

My issue isn't getting where he's coming from, it's not getting pissed off to the point of being rude and going off on tangents.

Why are you letting what someone else thinks or says affect how you act? Are you unable to have a rational discussion with someone you disagree with?

Because its important issues and emotions are human?

I am able to, and regularly do.

Are you able to read the post and grab a hold of why I've come for assistance in this case and not when discussing the same issue with my parents or other issues with others?

Agreed, and I'd recommend not replying too much to the other poster because they don't really seem to do good-faith arguing.

As for your question, this video posted on breadtube a bit ago goes into trans people and sports. Is that kind of like what you were looking for?
