The first versions of FTD actually had monsters. Just a neat little fact.
They really wrecked your stuff when they worked.

Probably not the path he wanted to go. There was a dragon and a tentacle monster that would pop up randomly and sometimes nuke your ship

That is a rip. I had that happen to me right after I captured a kobold. I had to restart the campaign cuz the glitch
