Activism and advice
Hi everyone. Recently I've been stirred from complacency by seeing what's been happening in my home state of Ohio and elsewhere, and I want to do what I can to try to do something about the situation. As I see it, we're not going to get much help from exercising our voting power, but rather through direct action, and protest and education have been on my mind. Thing is, I'm pretty green to this whole activism thing, and I don't truly know how to get the ball rolling (I've tried r/Womens_Rights but they're dealing with shit right now, and I've reached out to my NOW chapter but it's been crickets thus far). Specifically, I was wondering if people here might be able to clue me in to a couple things:
-
Any news of any organization for some type of protest on this in Ohio (I don't think I can be of much help outside it at the moment)? If not, how does the idea of putting plans of one into action strike people?
-
For something like door-to-door literature dropping, what type of information should be prioritized/put out there? I had in mind that this would appeal more to fence-sitters as well as raise awareness, but even there I wonder if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
Any thoughts/advice/critique would be greatly appreciated.
