For those who got started in the recent Merch era.
Some of you guys are Merch vets and have the slots to throw out whatever you want to see what sticks. This question isn't really for you, you're on a different level. This question is for people who started recently--say the last 6-9 months. I'm not interested in stealing anyone's ideas, I just want to know how the hell you guys figured out a way to get started. I've done my best to research what's popular, niches, etc. I've signed up for a few Merch tools sites. My conclusion at the moment is that there are exactly two types of things that can be uploaded: 1. stuff that no one has done, and no one wants. 2. stuff that has 30+ pages of identical designs. So just as a point of discussion, how the hell did you guys figure out what to start posting that would actually generate sales? Are you cutting edge meme lords? IP tricks? Do you just buy your own stuff? Again, not looking for a quick and easy answer. I'm willing to put in the work. But after all the hours I've spent on this, I'm no closer to figuring it out.
