Marriage Pressure
This may sound stupid, but I(20) already feel weird pressure to get married from all of my friends. Not that I am going to just because they say I should, but it feels super weird. My partner(35) and I have only been together 8 months and all of my friends are constantly bringing up marriage whenever I talk about my future plans. It makes me uncomfortable because my partner is not particularly interested in marriage and may never be and everytime friends bring it up its a reminder that our relationship is still very ambiguous and could very well stay that way. Not to say I'm worried about marriage, but it is annoying to have people seemingly looking down on me when I mention that I'm not worried about marriage.
I just want to live my life according to my own interests and whims and not be plagued with the anxiety of whether or not my partner will ever love me or marry me. Its very hard to not worry about that stuff when all of my friends are married and are trying to push me to think that marriage is the only thing that brings happiness. Even when I say all I want is my degree and to do performing arts they always use that "oh you will change" line and even if I will it doesn't change my current wishes.
TL;DR Basically none of my friends understand my relationship and instead of trying to accept that its different or that its not going to lead to speedy marriage like theirs, they bring up marriage every chance they get and it feels like they are trying to pressure me into wanting it.
