Firmly Planted with Rangefinder is my favorite.
RF gives a significant boost to range; voops are rarely hip fired, so it’s always working for you.
Is there no inherent advantage to Tap the Trigger adding stability (keeping a tighter spread) every shot, even with a range masterwork on board? I'm always torn on maintaining the balance of range to stability with fusions, with stability providing some regular shot patterns, but range giving that juicy damage drop off.
Ttt is literally full choke for a fusion. Nothing is better
Ttt is literally full choke for a fusion.
HA, what a great analogy! That certainly makes for a nice reference point. So Rangefinder is to Rifled Barrel as TTT is to Full Choke. I guess in that case, it's down to user preference as much as it is with those two shotgun barrels. I suppose TTT with a range masterwork would be ideal then.
A friend of mine who is a voop master swears by Tap The Trigger/Under Pressure with Range masterwork.
5400+ fusion kills on console, I always prefer stability boosts over range boosts on fusions as I feel like a tighter bolt grouping is more important than the damage fall off / bolt speed. My go to is an Erentil with Torch HS3 scope (medium zoom), Particle Repeater (stability boost), Firmly Planted and Rangefinder with a Stability Masterwork and I put on a CB mod.
Do you feel as if the tighter burst helps land more bolts more consistently (thus more regular OHKs)?
Rangefinder for me, it's just straight range no bullshit
Ttt best perk for fusions period

I like under pressure with rangefinder, highly recommend it especially if you’ve got projection fuse and a range MW.
Edit: if you want the best advice though post this to r/sharditkeepit and r/cruciblevooparmy
What do you explicitly like about Rangefinder over say, Tap the Trigger? Rangefinder pushes out the range and zoom (improves damage drop off), but I haven't a clue if it will tighten the bolt spread like with TTT.
Also, you'd prioritize a range MW over a stability MW, even with projection fuse on board? #curiousramblings
A screencap of my current Wizened Rebuke lineup (plus an Erentil for reference): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/443758933367193600/580076875523686409/rebukelineup.PNG
Yes I’d definitely advise maxing our that range if you want to run around with erentil. It’s been known for a long time that range equates to accuracy and I believe it also affects the speed your bolts travel.
The other options for me would be a back up plan/under pressure roll with liquid coils but that’s more of a reactive play style than I play.
Edit: you can pull down through the burst for long ranges to make it a tight spread - stability doesn’t matter much but I stick a counterbalance mod on to keep it vertical
Just wanted to point out that fusions are hitscan in D2. Other than that, solid advice. I've had a lot of success with my projection fuse/firmly planted/rangefinder erentil.
I’ve never heard that, always been told they were projectiles which is why you don’t trade like you do with shotguns (bolts just disappear) do you have any source for that? I have the same roll on mine and I love it aha the range is nuts
