C.H.I.P. Preservation Efforts

u/U-1F574 let us know that the CHIP preservation thread by u/flv42 has been deleted. Not sure what happened, but in the interest of not losing the information I'm posting the original message below.

The original thread was: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChipCommunity/comments/8ey1iv/ongoing_chip_preservation_efforts/?st=jvwk6kgk&sh=4e0d1477

Original thread content:

Hi all,

I thought I'd give you an update on my preservation efforts. As I've mentioned earlier, the C.H.I.P. Firmware / Flash Archive now lives on Archive.org to help keep your C.H.I.P.s up and running for all eternity.

Joining this archive is the Next Thing Co. Git Archive. It contains a snapshot of every Git repository publicly available and all of the eventual submodules.

Also, it was requested to have a backup of this very forum. While the Internet Archive does a pretty awesome job of providing a browsable backup, I decided to give it a go. Now you have the Next Thing, Co. Web Archive. It contains not only a downloadable copy of this forum, but also other domains like docs.getchip.com or blog.nextthing.co. So should anyone want to process the data for let's say an import into another forum, or is interested in what else is there, feel free to have a look.

In my opinion, that's pretty much everything one can do to preserve C.H.I.P. digitally. If I missed something, I'm all ears for suggestions.

Also, I'd love to hear what others have done to save C.H.I.P..
