My mom doesn't like my voice
To forewarn, sorry 8f my spelling is off 8m drunk and crying a bit and I do t know how to tell this. I'm in my early 20s, and my parents divorced when I was 4 or 5 and my earliest memory was me on the stairs listening to them fighting and the second earliest me running down seeing, seeing my dad move his bags to his truck. For the vast majority of my life I spent every other weekend at my dad's and the majority at my mom's, with half my life spending every Monday, Wednesday, and weekend at my dad's apartments. My mom has always been too tired to deal with us, has gotten headaches easily, and has been angry at my dad until she finally found a boyfriend, a couple years ago, actually insulting him and using him as an insult to my brother and me, such as 'you're as lazy as your father!' even though he has worked 40 hours a week in a physical job, kept the house clean and in working, and cooked for himself since he could barely afford luxuries. All the while, my dad never said anything insulting about her. This went on for 14 or 15 years. In middle and high school I rarely left the house, only to spend the day and/or night at my friend's who lived right behind me and heard a lot of her complaints since I was home the vast majority of the time. I will admit that I was lazy and did not listen to my mom since I grew taller than her not to long into middle school and drawfed her in high school and onwards and, for awhile there, actively disobeyed her until my dad told me to play nice some time in early high school. A few years ago I moved in wit h my dad and visit my mom 2 or 3 times a week and have improved our relationship. She very rarely uses my dad as an insult and when she does I call her on it, considering he's nearly a senior citizen now while she's in her mid 40s. She has always told me to be quiet when I use my normal speaking voice, because I believe I am naturally louder person, and she still does it today. A Because of her yelling at me I believe I've always been quiet when talking to family or authority figures while maintaining my normal voice with friends. This past week, I've been helping my sister move in with her boyfriend, and since we all have off of work for a week, has been relaxing and my sister, her boyfriend, and I have been drinking and I've been speaking at my normal volume which ends up with my mom yelling at me to be quiet and getting mad at me and makes me feel bad for being myself. I don't know why I made this post. Maybe I just want justification to yell at my mom or maybe I'm just drunk venting.
