Exam P - Paper/Pencil vs CBT

Exams

Does anyone recommend one option over the other? For the CBT option I can still use paper and pencil for scratch work right?

Also, does anyone know why some test options are closed right now, specifically the Paper/Pencil options? Will they open later or is the SOA phasing them out? https://www.soa.org/education/exam-req/registration/edu-registration/#

Yes you get scratch paper for the CBT. I think paper/pencil is only available where CBT isn’t available but I’m not sure.

Go for CBT. You get instant results which I would consider a priority

CBT will let you know whether you pass or fail immediately rather than having to wait weeks (8 weeks I think) for your paper and pencil results. You can also take the exam later in the exam window which gives you a bit more time to prepare. Both options aren't available everywhere though so you may not even get a choice on which one you take.

For CBT they give you a 26 page booklet for scratch work. Using both sides will give you 52 pages
