Meredith is in the wrong specialty

This is going off the 10 seasons I've watched so far but I also thought Meredith makes zero sense as a general surgeon. I know this is probably done to the writers effects of making her in the lineage of general surgeons at the hospital (her mom, richard, bailey) but with the way her arch has gone its seems like trauma surgery is her true calling. From the beginning Meredith's thing is that she is willing to throw herself in the middle of stressful and morally gray situations and make a decision. Once the bomb plotlines comes around, the show treats it as a way to show that she is suicidal (which she is) but also she demonstrates instinct and again her willingness to keep a patient alive in a dire situation. Also, think about how incredible it would've been for Meredith to work under Owen while she also lacks respect for him. I think this could have been a major point of development for Meredith and perhaps the a catalyst for her to over excel at her job. And lastly, Meredith and April as peers could have been incredible as far as foils go. All in all, Meredith works best imo when she is forced to combine her moral and intellectual compasses- as a character she is the most willing to work to comprehensively examine the rightness of something to its very end even if it calls for self reflection.
