What to do (alone) before a weekday matinee?

Tomorrow I’m seeing Hadestown (for the second time) on a solo day trip! But I’m not sure what to do with the rest of my time in the city.

I’m not one for touristy stuff — and it’s not like this is my first time at Broadway — so right now my only ideas are walking around Central Park and maybe browsing art galleries and bookstores. I’ve spent enough on tickets and travel already, so I’m looking for free or low-cost activities.

I’ll probably be arriving around 11am and leaving 6pm... so recommendations for (relatively relaxed) food spots are appreciated as well!
