I like this....but it feels like a slight copy of colbeast off-season work.

I don't understand why they gave an honorable mention to Danica in the #10. She crashed out a lot, and had a Daytona poll. Aric Amirola would be a better honorable mention as he has a win with the #10.

I think of Steve Park and Rick Mast before I think of Jamie in the 1.

Agreed

2
SKG1991•

Jaime had more success in the 1 car than both Steve Park and Rick Mast.

And? That’s not how the list was determined.

That #10 Tide Thunderbird is gorgeous.

Without reading the list, here's what comes to mind for me...

1 - Steve Park? Maybe Jamie McMurray?

2 - Rusty Wallace

3 - Literally the easiest number to choose for... Dale Earnhardt

4 - Kevin Harvick

5 - Terry Labonte

6 - Mark Martin

7 - Alan Kulwicki

8 - Dael Joonyer

9 - Awesome Bill Elliott

10 - Ricky Rudd I guess? Johnny Benson? (Probably not but I like him)

Kinda bull crap they didn't give the 4 to Harvick

RichPerks27:c9b::c94:•

They could've given it to Sterling Marlin. Back to back Daytona 500 champ on the 4 car.

Steffan514:2f::c88d::x98b::t99b:•

That number 4 Kodak car was pretty iconic in the 90’s

8
Modmachine29:4b: Harvick•

I remember back when I was in kindergarten my teach was bewildered how I wrote the number 4 because of that car.

2
Steffan514:2f::c88d::x98b::t99b:•

Holy shit! I’m the only person I’ve ever met that writes the number four the way it looks when typed and literally that car is why I do it.

1
themarkster09:9e::12f::17c::8b:•

why? I don’t know anything about Rex White other than just reading the stats, but he had a great career driving that number

4
KesFan_NavyVet:c18::2::12b::88:•

26 wins, 90 T5s, 121 T10s, 27 poles, in 170 starts in the 4 for White.

22 wins, 96 T5s, 136 T10s, 22 poles in 194 starts in the 4 for Harvick.

It's no question Harvick will get it at the end of his career. But for now, I gotta go White. The slight stat edge and the fact he made the 4 iconic in his time, gives White the win right now.

3
jfs-ewc:4b::c29::t54:•

They gave Earnhardt Jr the 8 car despite not having the most wins.

-3†
KesFan_NavyVet:c18::2::12b::88:•

Because he made it iconic.

Iconic? I don't think that's the right word.

UpInTheMarbles:18::Toyota::KBM::JGR:•

I don't know. Similar argument that Kurt Busch is in the #1, and they choose McMurray?

I am predicting Harvick gets the #29 and Kurt Busch gets the #97.

2
themarkster09:9e::12f::17c::8b:•

but why would they even put Kurt Busch on the list for the 1? I think this is a list for what drivers have done in that number, not their entire career, Busch has barely had half a season in that car, it wouldn’t make any sense to name him the most iconic/notable driver of the 1 car

7
UpInTheMarbles:18::Toyota::KBM::JGR:•

I was trying to make an analogy, not making an assertion.

1
lt12765:c24: Jeff Gordon•

This is a good point, some guys like David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip (or Jeff Gordon's 2016 part time job) had multiple iconic numbers. I bet they'll give DW #11, Kenseth #17 and Pearson #21.

1
TLars6:c95: Kahne•

They’ll use Harvick for the 29, assuming they’re trying not to double-up drivers.
