CRT won’t turn on, smells like something burning

I got my old CRT out of storage. It didn’t work very well beforehand (the picture would constantly be tinted purple/red/yellow/etc. although the problem got better the longer it was on) but today when I plugged it in to test it it wouldn’t even turn on. At first the channel indicator lit up but not the screen, but then nothing. I noticed a burning smell coming out of the back. I know a few things about electronics so it seems to me like a fuse or capacitor is blown inside. Would it be worth trying to fix this (plus the aforementioned color problem), or should I just toss it?
