I (25M) think i'm falling in love wih my best friend (24F)

So, for a little context, my now ex left me just over a year ago after 8 years of being a couple for a coworker of hers, which left me not only devastated, but pretty much alone, since she was practically the only person i had contact with on a regular basis. When we got together she of course introduced me to her best friend back then, which later became my best friend also. After the break up i fell into a deep hole emotionally and could neither eat nor sleep for several weeks, which was followed by months of only rudimentary contact to anyone, since absolutely everything reminded me of her and i couldn't really cope with it. Now that my feelings for my ex fade and i slowly start to open up to others again i think i might be falling in love with my best friend.

She already has a boyfriend, and is an ex girlfriend of an ex good friend of mine (i try to avoid contact with him because during their break up he was a total douche), which doe not make this easier for me.

So my question is, how do i handle this situation? I'm not good in solving this kind of problem, and I don't want to lose another person who is close to me.

Do I continue like before and hope for the best, or do i try to suppress any deeper feelings that might come up?
