First DIY Coil Build

NSFW

Been using my Stempod SI with the stock Kanthal for a while now and while I was pretty happy with everything I really wanted a temp controlled coil. After a failed attempt at a local vape shop to talk "temp control coils" for stempod, I decided I would do a little research and picked up some MasterWire SS 316L 26G and rolled my first coil about 5 mins after receiving the spool this morning. Some research led me to Steam Engine, etc. Worked up 2x 10 wrap coils, exchanged them for the Kanthals, dropped in some settings on RedPanda (350F, TCR 260) and I am absolutely blown away by the difference. Flavor is incredible, no harsh heat, temp control works, can it really be this easy? Did I just stumble on dumb luck my first roll?

One thing I have noticed as I tamp down the carb on it the temp goes up as the airflow is decreased (as expected). My live reading is still about 50-75F lower than what I have set it for. I am using a heat sink so I know that can throw off some things. I am getting some really tasty hits at 400F setting (which reads live approx 330F) so I am almost afraid to mess with it but the curious in me wants to know what's going on mechanically with the device.
