Fell off the wagon at the weekend after a very long stretch. However lessons have been learned and they were surprising to th both of us.
I would go into the reasons but it essentially boiled down to having to see what we were "missing" an itch that seemed like it had to be scratched..
Saturday night was an absolute disappointment for both of us. It made the evening worse and at no point did it improve anything in any way. There was never a sense of "wow this is what everyone keeps going on about!".
Sunday, the both of us were shocked at how shitty we felt and it was the biggest wake up call I have ever had. Not only feeling physically terrible the psychological impact was a horrible shock. Depressed, anxious and a complete feeling of dread. Not to mention not wanting to do anything.
Both of us have immediately sworn off the drink again, we missed nothing. I feel that Alcohol as fun is one of the biggest lies in modern society. It offers nothing and in return takes so much.
