Guys, could you be happy with getting blowjobs every few months?

I thought you were supposed to give blowjobs every time you had sex (it's not one sided, I got oral that often too). But my friend and her BF only do oral once in a while, and I had assumed guys would hate that. But she said she and her BF are perfectly happy. I know everyone is different, but I really thought before that guys always expected blowjobs whenever we had sex. Are guys who are happy with getting BJs every few months common? I wouldn't expect oral on me more than every few months with a guy like this, so this wouldn't be a one sided thing at all.
