Unpopular Opinion But, I Think The Mac Pro Stand Is Priced Appropriately

  1. No ones used it. It could be amazing for all you know. ( Admittedly that's a stupid reason so move on over to reason #2)

  1. Throughout the presentation Apple made it clear who they're making the Mac Pro for, Professionals! The guys ( and girls) who work with 1000 track Logic projects and people who make documentaries in 8K. Hell Music producers have been known to buy really expensive analog gear. They literally spend tens of thousands of dollars on analog synths when they can buy digital synths for like $300 and get almost the same result. Idk about the video editing industry but im sure this paradigm holds when you consider that theres a market for $43,000 reference monitors. Im sure they'd be fine with an extra $1000.

But as apple said in their keynote their biggest pro market are developers. And most developers work at companies and their coding systems are provided for by the company. A thousand dollar stand is nothing for a company thats kind of well established. So its not the developer thats footing the bill its the corporation.

  1. Worth is subjective. Consider this the Average income in a lot of the world is about $1700. For them a $999 phone does not make sense, when there are $50 phones that do pretty much the same things. Make calls text access the internet etc. But for you a $999 or $750 phone may make sense. Its worth it for you. It's not worth it for them.

Conclusion:

The stand is priced appropriately for its target demographic.
