Renovate my old Nexus 5X

Hello friends,

I've been out of XDA and the developing community for a few years, now.

I'd like to revive / renovate my old Nexus 5X with the latest custom roms.

My question is simple, what is the most common, widespread combo ROM and Kernel around to make the Nexus 5X new again? I've heard the Franco Kernel has good performance.

My need in terms of performance are simple. I don't play, I mostly surf on the web, use Google Maps, text messages and calls. I like to have a good battery.

Cheers and than you for your help!
