No maternity leave with current job- options?

I am currently a contracted employee and while I love it here and I have a great team and manager, I don't get the benefits of a full employee, including any leave time. My manager already made it clear to me that my job will be here when I come back to work, and the agency I'm contracted through said I can apply for short term disability as well to keep my job, but I'm concerned about income.

My husband is disabled and can't work and we have a toddler already. Would benefits like TANF be an option after having the baby? Or are there other resources for being temporarily out of work?
