Overcame anxiety issues but it's coming back to haunt me. Anyone else ever feel this way?

Helpful Tips!

I used to be a bunched up rubberband ball of social ineptitude. I could hardly talk to public service workers in person nor the phone, let alone just a random stranger. Girls? Couldn't even make eye contact.

I was this way up until I was 22-23ish at which point maybe due to circumstances I had an awakening, of the sorts. Over a course of a few months I began tearing down my layers of anxiety one by one until I truly felt at peace. I lost my virginity during this period and proceeded to hook up with many women. I felt invincible and my old issues seemed like a fading memory. Life was good.

Now, at 26 for whatever reason maybe again due to circumstances my anxiety seems to be returning. I can function just fine on the outside but it feels as though I am walking on a knife's edge. When speaking to people I am once again having my old nagging internal monologue "she's getting bored of me" "man, this person just wanna leave". I imagine this to have come from my old habit of feeling the need to please everyone.

There is not anything particularly rough going on in my life at the moment. I just cant seem to pinpoint why this strange anxiety is coming back to haunt me. Can anyone relate?
