What is your opinion on Electric Vehicles?

I recently took a test drive in a relatives new Smart ForFour EV and I have to admit that it was pretty good. The Instant power output is simply amazing and the lack of engine noise is actually really relaxing. While I don't particularly like the Smart as a car, I would seriously consider getting myself one day a Honda Urban EV, especially now knowing it has rear wheel drive. But I want to know your opinion on EVs. Why do you like or hate them?
