Need Help Finding 2 Game (1 Early to mid 90's the other late 90's to mid 2000's)

1st PC game: I used to have a demo of this game... it was a DOS shareware game that came on a floppy disk. It reminded me of Star Trek. You were in a space ship going either forward or backward and you would eventually run into other spaceships and have dialogue and have to do missions i believe. Don't remember much more about it.

2nd PC game: It was a first person shooter but instead of you shooting you were in some kind of futuristic tank like vehicle and you could switch to 3rd person view. You also had the ability to get out of the vehicle if you needed to and you would hear the signature alarm chirp-chirp sound when you got out. It was a demo from a video gaming magazine but I can't remember the name of it.

Hopefully someone here would remember what these games are. Thanks in advanced.
