Biggest Misconceptions by Authors of Harry/Hermione

I can't tell you how many times I've come across, what seems to be, a good Harry/Hermione story, yet in Chapter 1, Harry states/thinks/says Hermione is "the brightest witch of her/our age". In the past, I've actually messaged authors explaining this was never explicitly stated in the books and that it was Lupin (and not the entire magical community of England) that said [Hermione] is the cleverest witch of her age he's ever met. Yet this is never brought up in the books again. Only Harry says (in the Half-Blood Prince) that Hermione is the best in our year which does not equate to her being the "cleverest witch of her age". I've stopped messaging people about this because I found that there was too many stories (currently, updating stories) that had this incorrect assessment of Hermione in them.

What are other misconceptions that are littered within Harry/Hermione stories that either have to do with the characters, setting, or overall structure of the story that makes you roll your eyes, grit your teeth, or makes you want to put your head through the wall?
