Recommendation for a rum drinker?

Hello there!

I usually drink rum, when I'm on my own - I like Kraken, Plantation's Original Dark, and I confess that Captain Morgan does the trick when I'm a little low on cash. Otherwise, I like lager or craft beer when I'm out for a drink with friends.

I'm trying to diversify the kinds of alcohol I drink, so I was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendations for scotch (or whisky, or... any other liquors). I like slightly sweeter spirits that don't burn like hell! (This doesn't mean I don't drink - I'm 2/3 through my 700ml bottle, and I just got it almost 2 weeks ago. That's why I'm looking for an affordable rec!)
