[Question] High Temperature Distillation for Aluminum in gas phase
Hello
I am doing experiments with Al in a vacuum furnace (3-5 mbar) a chemical reaction for reduction using aluminum in gas phase at Max 1400 Kelvin
Is there something available for sale as a Gas condensator for High Temperature Distillation??
i was thinking maybe it should be somewhere a device made of stainless steel with a heat resistant to keep de temperature high enough and the i can collect te metallic output Al Gas in a crucible. I just do not know the technical name or where to buy it.
The easy way is just to use a Lid Cover but i do not like it because for cleaning the furnace and the lid after the experiment is a big mess and really hard to remove.
Another idea that i had is to use a molten metal on top like cast iron (low melting point) to dissolve the Aluminum gas in the Liquid Iron, but in vacuum inside the furnace not sure if that will be efficient because of the low solubility.
or if you guys have another idea o solution it would be really nice.
Thank you
