Recent college grad, no student loans, money tucked into savings, but unsure what to do from here

Debt

I just graduated, I'm pretty confident in my ability to find a job in my field but I have a couple issues. I'm really worried I'll hate the 9-5 I'll probably find, and pretty much everything I have seen is around the same amount of money I already make. I'm afraid if I go straight into it I will hate it, want to quit, and then fuck up whatever future I had in this town in that career field. On the other hand, I'm kind of stressed about feeling stagnant in my life even though I have only been graduated a week.

I have worked full time all through school, I pull probably $500/week average at my serving gig. My schedule is flexible, I love my coworker and boss, I can have all day off and make $120 in four hours. I have about $8k in my savings account, much more than I would need for a 6 month emergency fund (monthly expenses hover around $700/month + food/gas/fuckaround money).

So 2 questions: Should I look for a job in my field even though I'm nervous about it? A little bit more money, better for my career, but I'm not super focused on that.

What should I do with my savings beyond sticking it in a savings account?

thank you!
