Spinfoil theory: Shaxx's first name

Misc

William. It's William Shaxx. Why do I think this? Let me tell ya.

During his life, and up until the 20th century, William Shakespeare's name had no consistent spelling. He signed it one way, his publisher printed another, and the critics all used a spelling similar to "talentless scrub". (Who needs critics anyway, amiright?)

We're also not sure what he looked like. There are lots of pictures out there claiming to be of him, but the most likely one isn't even guaranteed to be of him. At this point, he could look like just about anyone.

Which brings me to Shaxx. The man has a way with words. He has an affinity for Shakespearean text. His name and personality is a potentially alternate spelling of Shakespeare (Shaxx-Spear, Shakes-Spear). Perhaps most importantly, he never shows his face.

We all know that guardians awake with zero recollection of their history, but guardians may still share basic tendencies with who they were previously. So, the man gets a name that is similar to the one held previously. He keeps his flair for the dramatic. He memorizes the Tempest... and he never shows his face. Shaxx is, in fact, the resurrected bard.

please finish the maintenance quickly bungie, I'm beginning to go nuts waiting over here

EDIT: Godlike Destiny player and resident genius u/MissMilligold lends credence to this theory:

What if the placard next to his grave was what he found when he rezzed, but it was so scratched up, it looked like "THE GRAVE OF THE #### W##L### SHAK#####". W##L### SHAK##### -> Warlord Shaxx

Also, what if the shield on the placard degraded too, so that it looked like one side was scratched out white, and the other was orange!
